The embroidery paintings follow a natural evolution in Grassi’s practice by incorporating embroidered threads into the work. The embroidery creates an ambiguous space between craft and painting. The artist enlisted her childhood friend, Francesco Naccarato to use a french knotting to create pointillist like marks that are overlaid onto the hand painted lines.
