In the series Zip/Stack/Flow, Grassi’s hand-painted lines are superimposed over stacked geometric shapes resembling the middle of an ongoing data graph. Visualised data points charted over time manifest as a snapshot to that of something large and unending, The reification of forgotten, ignored or unseen data, especially as it pertains to the history of women and labour are of particular interest to the artist. The work references the connections between textiles and technology with a nod to the history of abstract painting.
