Grassi references textiles, data overload and the codes of modernist abstraction in her paintings. In the series Zip/Stack/Flow, hand-painted lines are superimposed over stacked geometric shapes resembling the middle of an ongoing data graph. These visualised data points charted over time manifest as a snapshot to that of something large and unending; the reification of forgotten, ignored or unseen data, especially as it pertains to the history of women and labour.
